DNB traineeship
Do you have a Master's degree from a research university and are you looking to develop yourself across the board? The DNB traineeship gives you the unique opportunity to work on a variety of today’s financial-economic issues that are not only intrinsically challenging, but also highly socially relevant. Are you ready to put your analytical skills and keen eye to work for financial stability and sustainable prosperity?
We will not be recruiting a new cohort for the DNB traineeship in 2026. We will use this time to optimise our programme and ensure that trainees receive the best guidance and opportunities. Stay tuned – a new cohort will start in September 2027!
This is what your traineeship looks like
Over two years, you will work in three different places within DNB, for example at the central bank, supervision, or resolution (settling institutions in trouble). The placements will focus on your talents and development goals, allowing you to bring out the best in yourself. You are, often as part of a multidisciplinary team, solving complex issues. For example, on new regulatory legislation, climate risks at financial institutions, or the digital euro.
Personal development
The traineeship is entirely dedicated to your substantive, professional and personal development. As a trainee, you will therefore receive intensive coaching, both individually and together with your fellow trainees. You will take the Basic Supervisor Training (BoT) and Central Banker Training (BCB) and follow professional training in the field of fintech, financial laws and regulations or, for example, data science. You will also learn how to write a good policy paper and speech or how to conduct a good supervisory interview. You can also count on a personal support team: in addition to your manager, your mentor, buddy and trainee supervisor are closely involved in your development.

De aanmeldperiode staat gepland per april 2027. Hierover tzt meer informatie.
Screening harde criteria
Eerste selectieronde - Selectievragen via ObjectivEye
